We find that many applicants do not fully understand the requirements of many positions at Hollywood Lights, in our Sales, Electrical Services and Production Lighting/Rental departments. Working at Hollywood Lights can be rewarding if you enjoy helping people and being part of a team. However, the work is physical and our standards are high. All positions require attention to detail, commitment, and a desire to exceed our customer's expectations.

We expect all of our customers to be treated with dignity, respect, courtesy, and an exceptionally friendly attitude, at all times. We also expect our representatives to be alert, knowledgeable, and interested in helping customers to solve their problems, providing technical information, demonstrating our equipment, and designing their purchase/rental/event to achieve their goals, no matter what department you are working in.

Hollywood Lights' Portland retail showroom is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 PM; and on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 PM. Other departments, however, work on projects and events that require service around the clock. If you are hired to work full- or part-time in one of these departments your hours will vary. Some full- and part-time employees may be required to carry an on-call cell phone during evenings and/or weekends.

Customer Sales Representative

The qualified candidate for this position will be an energetic, customer-focused individual with knowledge of theatre supplies and theatrical lighting equipment. Product and computer training will be provided. This position also requires experience in retail operations such as cash handling, phone skills, creating seasonal displays, product shipping and receiving, initiating sales calls, including following up on will call, special orders, and collection calls.

Production Lighting Services

The Production and Rental Department is always looking for quality individuals to join our team! Applicants should possess expertise and know-how in various entertainment lighting techniques, equipment, and the industry in general; with "extra points" for people who have any or several of the following skills: Rigging, Lighting Design, Console Operation, Moving Lights Programming, Crew Leadership, Project Management, Account Management, Equipment Repairs, Truck Driving, etc. Hollywood Lights is a high quality, high value company that believes in exceptional customer service, and applicants will be expected to adhere to this concept. Production/Rental Warehouse

Hollywood Lights' Production Lighting and Rental shop is an exciting and challenging place to work for people interested in an environment that requires self motivation, dedication, and hard work. We are team oriented and constant in our mission to provide exceptional customer service.

Our primary tasks include preparing and returning to stock all equipment for productions and rentals, keeping a clean and safe work environment, and maintaining equipment. Other tasks include, but are not limited to, building maintenance, landscaping, painting, etc. Work will be performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

The ability to lift fifty pounds with regularity is required. Work hours vary. Electrical Services

The Electrical Services Department is always seeking motivated, hard working team players who understand the importance of safety, attention to detail and excellent customer service. Successful applicants will have (or acquire) skills or knowledge in the following areas: Basic Electrical Distribution; Safe and Courteous Driving of any size of vehicle; Operation of Forklifts, Scissor Lifts and Boom Lifts; Generator Operation; Material Handling; Vehicle Loading and Unloading; Equipment Storage and Maintenance; Customer Service; Teamwork and Communication.

We provide temporary electrical services for any type of indoor or outdoor event, including trade shows, festivals, sporting events, grand openings, concerts, equipment testing, etc. We also install decorative lighting for the holiday season. The work locations, types of events and hours of shifts vary, so it's never boring.
